Are they the same here? I'm asking this because usually Axes can deal a higher damage, while swords hit faster.

Which one is the best? Axes or Swords? (for FD Colo Slayer).

no, they dont hit faster.... but they have more accuracy (chance of not miss/block) than axes

U just have another Speedbreak if u wear a Sword or Axe. Sword get the same atk speed for less dex than axe.

Also, I've read from somewhere that you should have an axe for the main hand and sword off-hand for reasons I can't remember o-o derp

Axe and Sword got different speedbreak. Sword Speedbreak is much better than Axe. Here u can see the Speedbreaks. http://www.flyffworld.com/wiki/Blade_Speed_Breaks

The stat fast/verry fast don't have any effect of the hitting speed, which is the same on sword/axes. On Mazey its not necessary to check this stat because u got everytime 100% atk speed. Axe in Mainhand, because of a higher str to atk calculating. i think it was 5,5 atk/str for Axe and 4,5 atk/str for sword. 2nd Hand weapon don't change your attack.

i've personally always liked axes so overall axes would be the best haha
