every time I open my skill tree, my game crashes. if there's any extra information needed; channel 1, assist level 37 and I'm currently in Azria.

Either level to 130, or do /skilllevelAll command, however that costs 100 perins.

Delete Neuz.exe/mazey.res/mazey1.res and try again... that's probably a corrupted file that is causing the crash.
The /skilllevelAll thingy is not a bug, it is originally a GM command but it's allowed to all users at a small cost (100 perins as mentioned above).

there's no mazey.res/mazey1.res in my folder (unless you mean maze.res/maze1.res)
also just tried deleting those and they came back in the patcher, so my client crashed again

Yeah that's it.. maze... anyway... can you please clean up your "Log" folder, try to open the skilltree again and then check the Log folder and post the error in here?

Just do this:
Deleting and/or opening the game files may be a bit too much for a small issue like this, but you can follow iRed´s advice if it solves the issue.

I told you to clean the log folder and try to open your skilltree again just to generate another error log file (an up-to-dated one). If you post what's inside the generated error log I could possibly identify the error and give you a solution for that...
